What you need to know:
Effective Monday, October 4, 2021, Nasdaq MRX will make updates to the source IP address to the B Side feed in the Chicago data center for the MRX Spread Feed. The updated source IPs can be found (highlighted in yellow) here and on the UDP/IP Webpage. The changes are being made to keep consistent with B Side IP address sources.
What is changing?
Effective Monday, October 4, 2021, Nasdaq MRX will make updates to the source IP addresses to the B side MRX Spread Feed in the Chicago data center.
What is the impact to MRX Spread feed customers?
Only direct data feed subscribers to the MRX Spread feed that are connected to the B side feed in the Chicago data center will need to migrate to the new source IPs.
All firms must make updates to the new source IPs before Monday, October 4, 2021 to prevent any issues receiving the Chicago B side feed.
The new IP information (highlighted in yellow) can be found here and on the UDP/IP Addresses – U.S. Derivatives Data Feeds page on Nasdaq Trader, under the ‘Nasdaq MRX Spread Feed’ section (bottom of the page).
Will there be opportunities to test ahead of the change?
Yes, beginning today Nasdaq will support both the legacy and new multicast B feed addresses simultaneously through the close of day on Friday, October 1, 2021. Firms can use this time to test their configuration updates to read the new B feed IP multicast addresses. Nasdaq will cease to publish the MRX spread feed (B feed) via the old multicast addresses at the close of day on Friday, October 1, 2021.
In addition, firms will also have an opportunity for Saturday testing on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021 between 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. ET.
What will firms need to do in order to get connected to the new IP Addresses?
All existing firms should already receive the new source network 18.104.22.168/25, please consult with your network team to confirm. If a firm does not already receive this B feed source network, then the firm must email Nasdaq Networking to request the network.
Will there be any changes to the MRX Spread feed data formats?
No. The MRX Spread feed data formats will remain the same. Only the Chicago B side feed source IP address information is changing.
