Arsenal assistant manager Steve Bould says he has “never met anybody as hungry and determined” as Arsene Wenger, in a stern defence of the Arsenal manager.
Wenger was unavailable for Thursday’s pre-match press conference ahead of Arsenal’s Super Sunday meeting with Stoke due to illness, his assistant confirmed.
When asked whether Wenger still has his hunger, Bould responded: “Absolutely, he is remarkable. Behind closed doors I’ve never met anybody who’s as hungry and determined to win football games.”
Arsene Wenger has a contract with Arsenal until the end of next season, but it has been suggested that the he could step down this summer following another difficult campaign.
The capital club are currently sixth in the Premier League table – 13 points off the top four – but could yet secure Champions League football for the 2018-19 campaign with a Europa League triumph.
