Birmingham City Confirms Kerim Frei Will Join Turkish Club Istanbul Basaksehir

Kerim Frei is set to leave Birmingham to head back to Turkey…

Kerim Frei will be announced as a Istanbul Basaksehir player tomorrow.

Birmingham City spent over £2million on Frei in the January transfer window but the Turkish winger failed to make a lasting impression.

The manager who signed him from Besiktas, Gianfranco Zola, only handed him three Championship starts, while the 23-year-old enjoyed a further 10 outings off the bench.

Fre’s departure was always likely as Redknapp sought his own signings this summer and the former Fulham starlet will fly back to his homeland to complete the deal before his presentation at approximately 8:30am tomorrow morning.
