West Brom are interested in signing Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson.
Tony Pulis hopes to add to his defence, having failed in a move for Arsenal left-back Kieran Gibbs.
“We have three or four other targets we are desperate for,” he said on Saturday. “We are juggling two at the moment.”
Boro see themselves as promotion favourites in the Championship this season and don’t want to sell their top defender to a team who may be battling against them in the lower half of the table next term.
Ben Gibson is allegedly keen to stay in the Premier League, and he may well need to return to the top flight this summer in order to boost his chances of grabbing a place in the England squad for next summer’s World Cup in Russia.
