West Ham say they have agreed terms with Bayer Leverkusen to sign Javier Hernandez.

The former Manchester United striker is now set to fly to London in the coming days to finalise personal terms and undergo a medical.

It will be a return to the Premier League for Javier Hernandez, who enjoyed four seasons at Manchester United – winning two Premier League titles in that time.

A statement on the Hammers website read: ‘West Ham United and Bayer Leverkusen have agreed terms for the transfer of Javier Hernandez to London Stadium.

‘The former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker will fly to London in the coming days to finalise personal terms and undergo a medical with the Hammers.

‘Hernandez, 29, affectionately known as “Chicharito” across the globe, became Mexico’s all-time leading goalscorer in May this year

West Ham are also finalising terms with Stoke City over the £24m transfer of Marko Arnautovic who is due to have a medical ahead of linking up with his new team-mates.

The 28-year-old is expected to sign a four-year contract and will become West Ham’s record signing.

Stoke will receive £20m up front, with the remaining £4m dependent on the Hammers achieving Europa League qualification.
