Arsene Wenger is quite pleased with the swift business Arsenal conducted in the signing of Alexandre Lacazette.
The Arsenal manager believes the reported fee of €53 million which the club paid for the striker is a decent bargain and could have cost more had business been conducted later in the windows.
Lacazette joined the Gunners from Lyon in July and has already scored in the PL, opening his account against Leicester City on opening day.
“It depends sometimes on the timing. The inflation sometimes is so quick within the transfer market that the timing of your buys is very important,” Wenger said ahead of his side’s trip to Liverpool on Sunday.
“We were already on the case last year, so when I came back in I knew the player.
“Considering the market now, I think it is a very decent price. The price would certainly be very different today.”
