Former Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka has rejected the chance to manage Alaves, reports Marca.
Alaves, who lie at the foot of the La Liga table after four games, parted ways with coach Luis Zubeldia over the weekend.
According to Marca, Alaves tried to recruit Karanka, but the former Boro boss turned it down due to personal reasons. The Spaniard’s father passed away last week.
It’s not the first time Karanka has rejected Alaves – he turned down the chance to manage them earlier this summer after he was sounded out following Mauricio Pellegrino’s decision to join Southampton.
