Mesut Ozil’s agent Dr Erkut Sogut has claimed that positive progress is being made in relation to a potential new contract for his client at Arsenal
Mesut Ozil will become a free agent at the end of the season if he does not put pen to paper on a new deal.
Talk emerged in the summer of Ozil’s possible departure, but the midfielder ended staying at the Emirates, along with Alexis Sanchez, who is in the same contract situation.
Manchester United and Inter Milan have been linked with moves for the ex-Real Madrid star, but Sogut has suggested that his client could agree fresh terms with Arsenal.
“Ozil wants to play another two-three years in the Premier League,” the footballer’s representative told Fanatik. “Talks with Arsenal are ongoing regarding a new deal, what I can say right now is that negotiations are going well.”
