Chelsea striker, Alvaro Morata is set to be out for almost two months, after sustaining a grade II hamstring tear in the match against Manchester City.
The 24-year-old could only play for 35 minutes in the 1-0 loss at Stamford Bridge, as he limped off the pitch.
Doctors at Chelsea and Spain assessed the hamstring injury and expect him to be out for a while. However, Chelsea will do everything possible to ensure he is back in time.
Morata who has scored six goals and assisted three in the Premier League is certain to miss the matches against Crystal Palace and Roma.
Since arriving at Chelsea for a fee of £57 million, Conte has relied on Morata and explains why he started him in the match against City, despite playing two matches in a row before Saturday’s clash.
“It’s normal when you play three massive games in only seven days, you must consider this aspect. We needed to take this risk because Morata for us is an important player,” Conte said at Stamford Bridge.
