The big trend this year has been moving big, established shows to Thursday nights. NBC did it with This Is Us, FOX did it with Gotham and now the CW is doing it by moving Arrow to Thursdays at 9pm for the Fall.
Riverdale will take over Arrow‘s old time slot on Wednesdays at 9pm, leading into the reboot of Dynasty for a night of tense, soap opera-style drama.
The only other big change to the schedule is that Jane the Virgin is being moved to Friday nights to join Crazy Ex-Girlfriend for a cohesive night of dramedy. The new military drama Valor will take over on Mondays, joining Supergirl.
At mid-season, the CW will have The 100, The Originals, iZombie plus two new shows, including the superhero drama Black Lightning.
Here’s a look at CBS’ new shows, what isn’t coming back and the schedule for Fall.
Valor: A military thriller and mystery about an elite group of helicopter pilots starring Hellcats‘ Matt Barr.
Dynasty: A remake of the iconic prime-time soap opera, this new version from the creators of Gossip Girl centers on the romantic and professional feuds of two of the wealthiest families in America.
Black Lightning: The CW’s newest superhero drama, Hart of Dixie‘s Cress Williams stars as Jefferson Pierce, a retired vigilante who gets back into the game when one of his daughters is being recruited by a gang.
Life Sentence: A dramedy starring Pretty Little Liars’ Lucy Hale, this show features a woman who is diagnosed with terminal cancer, but when she finds out she’s not dying after all, she has to live with the consequences of what she did when she thought she only had months to live.
