Teles first appeared way back in season 2 when she was imprisoned with Bellamy inside Mount Weather and the two worked together to escape. Since that quasi-heroic turn Echo has seemingly been doing her hardest to destroy all goodwill with Bellamy and the audience. In season 3 she betrayed Bellamy (and Octavia), leading them into a deadly trap while they barely survived.

Echo, who is a controversial character to say the least on The 100, survived the dangerous and deadly season 4. This alone disappointed more than a few fans but with season 5 there is going to be much more Echo than usual. TV Guide is reporting that Tasya Teles, who potrays Echo, has been upped to a series regular for season 5.
In season 4 she really went into villainous overdrive, betraying Bellamy once again and then killing Ilian. This is not to mention the fact that her face was in an almost constant sneer which is definitely not the most endearing of expressions. Despite her actions, Bellamy still offered Echo a spot on the rocket to the Ark in the season 4 finale which saved Echo’s life. There is a chance then that we might see a much softer and more likable Echo by the time season 5 premieres.
In addition there have been rumors that because of the time jump fans might see Echo and Bellamy in a relationship that is more than friends during season 5. There has certainly always been some romantic tension between them — it is part of the reason Bellamy continually seems to trust her. The 100 showrunner Jason Rothenberg even teased of the two, “It’s been a long and winding road, and obviously that road’s not over yet. They’re all together in a group in space, so you never know!”
The 100 has been known to get into rough waters with fans when it comes to relationships. There was outrage when the show killed off Lexa and a slightly more muted response when Luna was killed off putting an end to any potential future between Raven and herself. Doubtless, given all the controversy surrounding Echo, any potential romance with Bellamy could be just as volatile. It remains to be seen how the show is able to pull it off.
So what do you think? How do you feel about Echo? Are you excited or worried about the possibility of an Echo and Bellamy romance? Do you love Echo, hate Echo or love to hate her?
