Katee Sackhoff on The Flash
Battlestar Galactica star Katee Sackhoff has landed a recurring role on The Flash. According to Entertainment Weekly, the actress will play Amunet Black, also known as the DC Comics villain Blacksmith, who is described as a “badass boss of an underground black market for supervillains.” Sackhoff, whose other credits include roles on Longmire and 24, will make her debut in the fifth episode of season 4, which also serves as a mini-crossover with Arrow.
Jordan Bolger on The 100
British actor Jordan Bolger is heading to The 100. TV Line confirms that the Peaky Blinders actor will play a self-professed adrenaline junkie named Zeke Shaw. The character is described as “brimming with brains, wit and bravado.” Zeke reportedly has a knack for uncovering secrets of the universe, which resulted in him being part of a space mission. When he returns to Earth, however, he finds “charred remains of his old world, tribal warfare, shifting alliances and a brutal fight for humanity’s survival.”
Marina Benedict and Benjamin Stockham on Gotham
The fourth season of Gotham is making room for two new faces. Prison Break revival actress Marina Benedict has landed a recurring role as Cherry, the owner of a fight club in The Narrows. She is described as edgy and tough, as well as a powerful adversary for Ed Nygma, Solomon Grundy and other characters. On the other hand, About a Boy star Benjamin Stockman will guest-star as Alex Winthrop, “the bookish grandson of a museum curator whom Bruce comes in contact with when tracking a mysterious artifact.” The casting news was first reported by TV Line.
Amanda Brugel on The Handmaid’s Tale
Amanda Brugel, who plays Rita on The Handmaid’s Tale, has been promoted to series regular for its upcoming sophomore season, The Hollywood Reporter confirms. Brugel, whose character appeared in nine of the Hulu drama’s 10-episode first season, seems to be gearing up for a bigger part next season since Offred (Elisabeth Moss) entrusted Rita with letters written by other Handmaids.
