Here’s something you should know about Megan Fox: she’s a huge comics nerd.
Yes, believe it or not but there’s a reason why she’s starred in multiple comic adaptations over the years (everything from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Jonah Hex), and it’s because first and foremost she’s a fan. Which is why it doesn’t seem to far-fetched to learn that Fox may be preparing to play Poison Ivy in the recently announced Gotham City Sirens, an all-female Suicide Squad spin-off that will center on the women villains in Gotham City, specifically Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy and Catwoman.
Bleeding Cool claims to have intel that Fox has been ordering Poison Ivy-centric comics to her Warner Studios address. We’re not sure how they know this, but if true it could signal Fox’s desire to join one of the two monster big-screen comics-related universes right now, DC and Marvel, especially as movement on a third Ninja Turtles movie doesn’t seem to be happening anytime soon.
From our vantage point, Fox would be great. She’s a strong actress who loves this stuff, and up until this point hasn’t really had the opportunity to shine over her male costars. Fox, more than anyone, truly deserves a big role like this in a film that will clearly be driven by its female performers — let’s hope this one turns out to be true.
