There are no huge movie franchises quite like the Fast and the Furious. We’re not talking about the fact that it’s not based on a comic book or a TV show. We’re not even talking about its remarkable diversity, both in front of and behind the camera. We’re talking strictly about its sequel titles, which, like its characters, obey no laws.
Some have numbers in them, some don’t. One of them has a subtitle. One of the sequels is just the original title with less words. There’s nothing conventional about them and it’s just another reason we love this franchise.
The Fast and the Furious (2001)
2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)
The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006)
Fast & Furious (2009)
Fast Five (2011)
Fast & Furious 6 (2013)
Furious 7 (2015)
The Fate of the Furious (2017)
That last title was just revealed as part of a teaser for the trailer for the movie everyone has been calling Fast 8 up until this point. The full trailer won’t hit online until December 11, but for now we’ve got this quick video that not only announces the title, but shows off some expectedly ridiculous action.
The Fate of the Furious hits theaters on April 14, 2017.
