While by now we’re all well versed in the characters and lore of Captain America and Iron Man, there’s one superhero you must get to know: Marvel’s Doctor Strange, whose superpowered roots lie in the metaphysical. In the new movie Doctor Strange, Benedict Cumberbatch plays a surgeon who loses the ability to use his hands, which sends him into a tailspin searching for anything to help heal him — even the occult. Along the way, he’s introduced to a magical, mystical world, where he learns that his role in this life may be much larger and more meaningful than he ever imagined.
In this featurette, Cumberbatch talks about his character and how inspiring it was to work with the rest of the cast (which Marvel head Kevin Feige describes as “an embarrassment of riches”). Also meet the rest of the cast, as each gives insight into their characters and how they interact with Strange: Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One, Chiwetel Ejiofor as the trainer Mordo, Rachel McAdams as Dr. Christine Palmer, and Benedict Wong as, well, Wong, another of the doctor’s trainers.
