Exactly one year ago Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hit theaters, planting an action-packed flag in the ground for DC’s films, setting up the comic giant’s own Avengers-like movie in Justice League. Say what you want about BvS, but Zack Snyder’s superhero opus took more risks and left more of an impression on fandom and the cinematic landscape at large than most superhero movies.
And based on the latest trailer for Justice League (in theaters November 17), director Zack Snyder will take it to the next level with a film that unites Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and the Flash (Ezra Miller) in a monumental showdown.
Check it out.
Lots to chew on here for superhero fans, including our first look at all of our heroes using their powers (including Batman, whose superpower is apparently lots of money), as well as a noticeable lack of Superman. Just how much of Superman we’ll see is the big question it appears they’re dangling over us at this point. And what kind of Superman will show up? Will he be eager to help his new friends save the day, or will he be another adversary they’ll be tasked with fending off?
Those answers will come at another time. Until then, we’ll be over here watching Aquaman leap off the hood of the Batmobile like a boss.
November 17 can’t come soon enough. Unite and let us know what you thought of the trailer below.
