News Briefs: Stan Lee’s Next Four MCU Cameos; ‘Jumanji’ Casts Junior Players

Marvel Cinematic Universe: Stan Lee, who is an obligatory element of all movies based on Marvel Comics properties, has shot specifically tailored cameos for the next four MCU installments — Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok. And the interesting thing is he did all of them in a single day of filming in Atlanta. [Cinema Blend]

Jumanji: Four young actors have joined the cast of Jumanji as teenagers who are sucked into a video game and then represented in that game by avatars played by stars Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillen, Kevin Hart and Jack Black. The “JumanjiJuniors,” as Johnson called them in a tweet (featuring the image above), are Alex Wolff, Madison Iseman, Ser’Darius Blain and Morgan Turner. Jumanji is now filming and is due in theaters July 28, 2017. [THR]

Wildlife: Paul Dano will make his directorial debut with an adaptation of Richard Ford’s 1990 novel Wildlife. Dano also cowrote the script with partner Zoe Kazan. Carey Mulligan and Jake Gyllenhaal are set to star. The coming-of-age story is about a teenage boy who watches his parents’ marriage fall apart in 1960s Montana. Gyllenhaal and Dano previously worked together on-screen in Prisoners, pictured above. [Variety]

The Beat Beneath My Feet Trailer: Luke Perry is back for some ’90s nostalgia as an American grunge icon thought to be dead and living under a false identity in the U.K. When a teenage boy with musical aspirations discovers the former rock star is his neighbor, he gets the recluse to be his mentor. The British indie coming-of-age movie opens in the U.S. on October 21. [Movieclips]
