First published in 1981, Chris Van Allsburg’s children’s book Jumanji revolves around a board game that brings dangers from the jungle into the real world. The beloved movie adaptation starred Robin Williams and focused on adult characters rather than children.
A new movie inspired by the original book was touted for years before it finally got the green light with Dwayne Johnson set to star. Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan were soon added and we heard that the new adventure would find the heroes going straight to the jungle, something that was confirmed when the movie’s new title was revealed: Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.
Now the first trailer has dropped, showing that the lead characters are teenagers when they first discover the mysterious game and then must deal with their transformation into quite different adults to play it.
