An Essex mum of three suffering from restless legs syndrome (RLS) can finally share a bed with her husband again thanks to a natural Magnesium Flake remedy, which featured on the ‘Secrets of Sleep’ (More4, 5 July).

Research carried out by the Willis-Ekbom Foundation showed that around a third of patients and a third of spouses/partners admit sleeping in a separate bed due to RLS.
RLS-UK report that as many as 1 in 10 people are affected by RLS at some point in their life and 1 in 4 people diagnosed with RLS experience sleep disturbance.
NHS Choices say that women are twice as likely to develop restless legs syndrome than men. It’s also more common in middle age, although the symptoms can develop at any age, including childhood, where RLS is often wrongly identified as ‘growing pains’. About one in five pregnant women also develop the condition, usually in the third trimester and often continue to experience symptoms after childbirth.
